The Hebridean Way is 240 km/149 miles, and the typical time to walk the route is 12-14 days. We will be hosting the trip in its entirety.

Embarking on the Hebridean Way, Scotland's newest long-distance footpath, will undoubtedly treat you to a dramatic coastline of long white beaches. The beaches are undoubtedly some of the finest white sandy beaches in the world (in my opinion) and sit below rolling hills. The route itself is undulating, but generally, the accents are few.

There will be sections of the route that involve coastal paths, paths through Lochs and Glens, tracks through rugged wetlands, and some road sections as we pass over six causeways visiting 10 islands via 4 ferries.

This trip will appeal to those who have enjoyed hiking in places like the Knoydart Peninsular or the Highland Way, although this is considerably more peaceful. We will be hiking in two groups of no more than 10 people per group. The groups will self-define based on pace, and undoubtedly people will change around during the trip.

You will have had experience with wild camping and being self-sufficient for two-three days. Whilst some shops, restaurants and campsites are on the route, they will not always be available. We will help you plan for this.

The trip will commence in Oban and conclude in Stornoway, depending upon the duration of the trip chosen.

• Camping every night (mostly wild camping, so no access to showers or toilets)
• Carrying your equipment, food and first aid. There's NO BAGGAGE TRANSFER.
• Negligible access to power and often no phone signal
• Pack for sun, rain and wind: Usual weather conditions in August
• Starts at the ferry terminal in Oban @ 11.00 (requires travel day before and B&B)
• It ends at Inverness train station @ 12.00
• 15-day trip (13 days walking)

In addition to this trip, we will host a "Shakeout Weekend in Dartmoor" on 23-25 June 2023. To avoid trip dramas, the objective is to ensure everyone is prepared and equipped for the Hebridean Way event.
