Some people come to a meeting with a set agenda of what they want out of the Course, which is always some kind of pathway to enlightenment, or connection to God. This is the path of the ego because it comes along with your own rules and regulations of what to expect and how it should play out. But the Course says the only path is through other people, not reading and meditation. So if you attend a meeting of A Course in Miracles, or any other spiritual course, and a bothersome person keeps making themselves the center of attention, instead of walking out or vowing never to come back, why not instead realize that this disruption was created just for you. A disruptive person can be the quickest way to enlightenment as they give you a perfect shortcut to see God where God truly is – in the agitator. The pathway to enlightenment is through others and others all have issues – just like you! When you feel upset, it means own ego has taken over your thinking and feeling processes. As always, your ego brings confusion and upset, convincing you that it is coming from the other person. The truth is, what you see in the other person is what you see in yourself, so if you reverse your decision and choose to look at another’s struggle as identical as your own, you are well on your pathway to enlightenment.
