What we call enlightenment; A Course in Miracles calls “The Holy Instant.” This is the moment when we cross the line and accept ourselves to be the spirit of God rather than our physical identities. The Course’s guidelines for this transformation are few. “The holy instant is the result of your determination to be holy. It is the answer.” First, it takes your desire and the willingness to let it happen. You prepare your mind for it only to the extent that you want it above all else. You need not do more; indeed, it is necessary that you realize that you cannot do more. Let enlightenment come to you. Don’t start the process with forethought of what it should be like. Simply trust your willingness and do not be discouraged by any darkness that it may bring up. The central difficulty we have with this blossoming comes from our feelings that we are not worthy of this. This is where we will start tonight; getting over those feelings of inadequacy that lie at the center of our egoic identities. Together, we will over come them.
