Sickness is Not an Accident

Sickness is actually a defense against the truth, the truth that we are perfect spiritual creations of God. But how do we stop sickness? The doctors we consult, and the cures we take, focus on our bodies, which are simply the effects of our thoughts. Therefore we are only treating the symptoms. (Which the Course approves of if you feel it helps you). However, the true cure is in our minds, even to the point where the Course tells us that the only real therapy is psychotherapy, healing the mind. The healing power of God can only take place in our mind. God has already created us perfect, and it is our decision to choose the healthy life we want.

It is not necessary to read the book or have any prior knowledge of A Course in Miracles to participate and appreciate our discussion. This Course is appropriate for beginners as well as those experienced. For those who do want to study this in the book or online, please see the Daily Lesson, #136-Sickness is a Defense Against the Truth, which in my edition is in the Workbook section on page 257 and in the very last section of the book, The Process of Psychotherapy, sections IV. The Process of Illness and V. The Definition of Healing which in my edition is from pages 11-15. PLEASE NOTE: NOT ALL EDITIONS INCLUDE THE PSYCHOTHERAPY SECTION.
