Blockchain for Product Developers: March 2018 Edition
Details
• What we'll do
This will be the March edition of our monthly Blockchain for Product Developers meetup series: focused on short, concrete technical talks helping attendees to get involved hands-on with blockchain protocols. We're currently accepting speakers for this date: contact chelsea@finhaven.com if you'd like to speak!
Tonight we'll have three talks:
First we're beaming in Jason from Blockapps in Brooklyn, who will be giving a walkthrough of their STRATO development stack. Blockapps will be having an upcoming hackathon here in Vancouver, so it's a great opportunity to get some early ideas on that.
Currently managing training at BlockApps, Jason Tissera gained his foundation in Enterprise Technology at SAP, supporting Software Sales as a solution engineer and provided consulting services at over 30 companies. He also worked at CredSimple, a health technology company, developing a partnership program to increase platform adoption with BPOs, SIs, and Technology Vendors while simultaneously managing a full sales cycles with health plans.
Kartik from FirstCoin will give a brief overview of requirements for writing contracts for crowdsale, including a walkthrough of multiple contracts written for crowdsale for RightMesh, a summary of audit reports for RightMesh contracts, and do's and don't when writing solidity contracts.
Kartik is a Software Developer at FirstCoin Capital, building solutions for conducting a crowdsale and integrating blockchain in day to day applications. In past, he worked as a Software Developer at PayPal, Amazon, and Hootsuite. He also holds multiple ACM and IEEE publications in the field of machine learning and software mining.
Alex Lebed will then talk about stable units for product developers, envisioning where the immediate future might bring us from current known stablecoins like Tether and MakerDAO. He has been deep in study about the benefits of stable units for practical application of blockchain technology in larger society.
Alex Lebed is a blockchain researcher with a Masters Degree in Mathematics from Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU). He is a former software engineer at Amazon, Facebook, and Genotek.
• What to bring
Just bring yourself and an appetite for pizza :-)
• Important to know
Our awesome venue, VentureLabs®, enables us to meet in their high-tech, large capacity 11th floor space; we ask that you respect their coworking members, and not wander throughout the halls and rooms. If you need to step out to take a call, you can do so by the elevators or entryway, or head down to the building's lobby.
