Details

"The holiday of the autumnal equinox, Harvest Home, Mabon, the Feast of the Ingathering, Meán Fómhair or Alban Elfed (in Neo-Druidic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neo-Druid) traditions), is a Pagan ritual of thanksgiving for the fruits of the earth and a recognition of the need to share them to secure the blessings of the Goddess and the God during the coming winter months. The name Mabon was coined by Aidan Kelly (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aidan_Kelly) around 1970 as a reference to Mabon ap Modron (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mabon_ap_Modron), a character from Welsh mythology.[27] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mabon_(Wicca)#cite_note-27) Among the sabbats, it is the second of the three Pagan harvest festivals, preceded by Lammas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lammas) / Lughnasadh (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lughnasadh) and followed by Samhain (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samhain)."

***************************************************

In the month of September, much later after our meeting is the celebration of Mabon, which, as per the definition above is the celebration and thanksgiving for the fruits of our labors for the months prior. How have the months prior been for everyone?, have they been positively productive, or wrought by trials and error? If you are here, and are able to speak of these advances or short-comings you have much to celebrate as you are still alive and kicking. And this Coffee Moot stands to greet and be a supportive arm for you no matter what Pagan path we are all on. Let's come together on September 7th to share our blessings so others may be blessed, and lift up those who need encouraging. I also want to add that, the following Saturday (September 14th) at Dr Wilbur McIntyre Park (Gazebo Park) there will be an event that can help to prepare us for the celebration of Mabon (Sept. 26). This event is called Pagan Pride Day where there will be many vendors, displays, discussions on everything Pagan and of how meaningful it is to all of us. I was blessed at this event last year and I am looking forward to it this year.
