Dances of Universal Peace

Details
Sometimes called body prayer or group moving meditation, the Dances were started in the 1960's in San Francisco by American Sufi Samuel Lewis as an initiative to spread peace through the arts. They are now done worldwide, bringing together people of different faiths to chant and dance for peace and joy. Simple, meditative, joyous circle dances are taught in the moment using sacred phrases from many wisdom traditions. There are no performers or audience. We join hands in a circle to dance and sing “three-dimensional prayers” to create peace and joy in and beyond ourselves. No experience or partner is needed, only an open heart.
The second Friday Dance circle is led by Eileen Tajalima Pappalardo.
Suggested donation $5.
