Share and Tell: a community speaking event

Details
Come and meet your community!
Give a short talk: Present something you’ve made, something you’ve been thinking about, a technique, a skill, an idea. Talks should be 5-15 minutes, and should be related in some way to the field of technology.
We will have the setup for slideshow presentations available, but slides are not required.
Sign up to speak with this simple form: FORM (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1lamqAGX7Uj4qlSTMJqBH9I-fYL5XMxP33S40xrekrO0/viewform?usp=send_form)
Why?
This is call-for-speakers season for a great number of upcoming conferences. But not everyone feels comfortable or qualified to submit themselves for review. This event is a lower-key evening where anyone from the community is encouraged to stand up and share. Local, no pressure, and no proposal review committee.
It’s also a way for members of the local community to interact and connect on a level beyond small talk and drinks. What would you like other people to know? This is your chance to take the stage.
Talks can be very short and fairly informal– if you just want to demo something, that’s great! If you want to put together beautiful slides and give a polished presentation, that’s absolutely encouraged as well. It’s all about you presenting something you think is worth sharing.
Beginners are particularly welcome. Feel free to use this as a testing ground, as practice, or as a first time giving a formal presentation.
Conduct
This event will be subject to the usual Code of Conduct (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rVfMIP9w_ahIA54gYwEb8rwEA_ZaOuddbXR2ps4Lcp8/edit)– harassment or abuse of any kind will not be tolerated.
Since speaking in front of people can be scary, let’s go a step further than the code of conduct with this event. Be kind to each other. Go out of your way to encourage each other, and tell each other things you appreciated in each other’s presentations.
