First Android meetup 2018 at Hole19

Happy new year, Droiders!

We are inviting the Android community to get together on the 10th of January at the Hole19 office, starting at 19h00. We're excited to have on board three awesome speakers and developers that will share a bit of their knowledge from crafting Android apps.

• "Instant apps" by Filipe Mendes (Research Assistant ISEL) / @fmendes6
  Did you know that Denmark has more pigs than people and that the state of South Dakota in the USA has almost 5 times more cows than citizens?
  Me neither. But since this is an Android community, I will talk about Android Instant apps.

• "Every app brings new choices" by Pedro Veloso (Audible, Amazon) / @pedronveloso
  Regardless of whether you're starting a new app from scratch or extending an existing one, you'll have to consider using and choosing a Library to help you develop your application. In this talk we'll explore how you can go about making this decision, and we'll explore how to make an informed decision and explore various tools you can use to answer your own questions. Rather than feeling like you're picking the lesser of two evils, you'll end up picking something that you actually feel confident moving forward!

• "Reactive Clean Architecture using Android Architecture Components" by Fábio Carballo (Hole19) / @fabiocarballo
  In this talk, we will overview how to structure your app following the clean architecture (by properly separating concepts and layers) while linking it with a reactive approach that is based on observing long-living objects and their updates. Finally, we will see how to easily connect everything to the framework by using the "new" LiveData and ViewModel.
