Trust Your Words Writing Workshops
Details
Do you have writer’s block? Have a first draft that you just can’t finish, or are you afraid to submit your work? Struggle with imposter syndrome? Have you found your voice?
Welcome to Trust Your Words. My mission is to help writers connect to their unique voice.
If you worry that:
- you have nothing original to say
- writing is a privilege for other people
- you give other things priority over your creative time
- your writing has no life
- your characters feel wooden
- your story doesn’t even hold your attention
- you start projects but don’t finish them
- you don’t advocate for yourself
- you feel alone in your impossible goal
- you gave up on your dream
I totally understand. I designed this workshop for you with support from a Career Advancement Grant distributed by the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts (CBCA) and Colorado Creative Industries.
“So many writers and artists struggle alone through creative process, from developing story arcs or sharpening themes or just breaking through a creative block. As an uplifting creative entrepreneur and author herself, Marta Lane has the skills and energy to help others on their journey. CBCA is delighted to see Marta take what she learned in our Advancing Creatives Intensive and turn it into a beneficial workshop for fellow artists.” Meredith Badler, Deputy Director, Colorado Business Committee for the Arts.
The Trust Your Words logo resembles a classic Sailor Joe’s “I love Mom” tattoo because my goal is to help people cultivate an ability to write from the heart in a way that’s as indelible as ink on skin. I want my work to inspire people to take their next best step. These workshops are about learning how to trust your words, but they’re also about having fun and building community. They are about enabling dreams. Whether you want to be a hobby writer, a successful author, an artist with a vision, or a plumber who wants to reconnect with her passion, this workshop helps get you there.
With AI changing the creative landscape, it’s important to double down on being human, and trust your words.
Cultivate trust in yourself, hone your singular voice, and make your dreams real.
“I told my husband that the workshop was unlike any I had attended before. I usually leave workshops with a laundry list of all the things I need to change about my writing practice (and ultimately myself) in order to better execute the craft. That gets old and leads to a wearing down of my confidence in my writing ability. But this workshop was the complete opposite. I felt invigorated and free. It was liberating, and I believe it opened a channel and allowed me to write a story that had been whispering to me in the weeks before. The workshop renewed my confidence, and I wrote 22,000 new words in two weeks.” J. Sinclair
