Kayak camping Fisheating Creek
Details
We will meet Thursday evening at
Fisheating Creek campground and spend the night there. I will reserve a campsite for us all to stay at. Early next morning, we will launch and paddle upstream to a secret spot along the river to camp. Sunday will be a leisurely paddle downstream. Plan on bonfires, wildlife viewing, singing campfire songs, and enjoying nature and making new friends.
Bring: kayak or canoe, tow rope in case of portaging, small tent or hammock tent, sleeping bag, mat, cooking equipment, food for2.5 days, water or a filter, clothing, raingear, bugspray, sunscreen.
This trip is rated intermediate. You must have camping and paddling experience.
Kayak and canoe rentals are available at the fisheating creek outpost and must be arranged ahead of time, if needed. Rental costs are approximately $55/day.
Kim has a limited supply of tents, mats that can be rented. Contact her in advance if needed. FEC charges $5.00/day and allows showers. You must register at the office upon arrival. This is a Fri-sunday event. But you can arrive Thursday night if you want.
