WebSigCleveland.org - Intro to ExtJS and Sencha Touch

At our September WebSigCleveland.org (http://websigcleveland.org/) meeting, Durlabh Jain (@Durlabh (https://twitter.com/durlabh)) will discuss the major differences in planning a WebApp vs Website, and frameworks around these. He will introduce some of the common frameworks widely used for front-end development, and then focus on ExtJS (http://www.sencha.com/products/extjs)/Sencha Touch (http://www.sencha.com/products/touch/).
He will also cover the situations where jQuery (http://jquery.com/) is better and where ExtJS/Sencha Touch may be better. Finally, there will be a quick walkthrough of creating an app using ExtJS and Sencha Touch.
Speaker bio:
Durlabh Jain has been working professionally in the IT industry since 1990. He achieved the Indian National Record for developing and selling his commercial applications at the age of 10. He has provided consulting services for clients such as Microsoft, T-Mobile, Kenya Airways, and STERIS Corp., and has worked as a Solution Architect/Subject Matter Expert at Fujitsu. He has been delivering web applications since 1997, and has been working extensively with AJAX/Object oriented Javascript since 2001.
Durlabh Jain started working on ExtJS in 2007, and has been in love with it since then. In addition, he has worked with Sencha Touch since its introduction. He has worked on other frameworks such as jQuery, Dojo etc. as well. He has had wide exposure to multiple technologies, including Java, .NET, PHP, and NodeJS.
