Description:
ROCKS & ICE IN THE SOLAR SYSTEM Lower Summit parking lot of Mt. Diablo State Park Comets, meteors, and asteroids: how are they different, how are they related? Hold real meteorites â rocks from space â in your hand. Bring your kids, binoculars, warm clothes (temperature can drop significantly), snacks, water. If you bring a flashlight, please cover it with red cellophane, red cloth, or a red balloon.

From Danville take Southgate Rd into MDSP, from Walnut Creek take Northgate Rd into MDSP – continue up the Mountain past the Junction Ranger station 4.5 miles, the Lower lot is on the right just before the Summit Museum. $10 per car try to carpool.

MDAS members who have been through docent training are welcome to bring their binoculars and telescopes to share views of the universe with the public.
We also need a couple of members who can help direct our visitors in how park their cars.
