Are you genuinely curious about WHY and HOW dyslexia develops from a gift?

Would you like to know why SELF MADE MILLIONAIRES and entrepreneurs have four times the national average of dyslexics - and how their success is CAUSED by their gift of dyslexia?

Would you like to know why dyslexia is even more common amongst prisoners and substance abusers in rehab centres than amongst entrepreneurs - and how can we lower re-offending rates?

Would you like to know how we can CORRECT the disability of dyslexia in only five days - and sort out ADD, AD/HD or maths in another 3 days?

Would you like to know how we can PREVENT dyslexia from developing in the first place, by slightly changing the way we teach reading and maths?

If you answer yes to any of the above questions, then you should come to the free public lecture at The Allsouls Clubhouse, 141 Cleveland Street, London, on Tuesday, July 16th.

Axel Gudmundsson, a Davis programme facilitator, talks about how and why the dyslexic strengths develop and how the dyslexic learning difficulties develop - and how we can use the strengths to eliminate the weaknesses pretty much altogether.

Over ten years ago, Axel Gudmundsson received part of his training from Ronald D Davis, the author of the international best-seller The Gift of Dyslexia (http://www.gifteddyslexic.com/dyslexia-information/gd-books/the-gift-of-dyslexia-book) who discovered that at the root of learning difficulties are gifts waiting to be harnessed.

Dyslexic people are visual, multi-dimensional thinkers. They are intuitive and highly creative, and excel at hands-on learning – but because they think in images, it can be hard for them to understand letters, written words, and sometimes numbers as well.

When dyslexics use methods geared to their unique learning style, they can learn to read, write and study efficiently.

THE PROBLEM

A problem with focus (attention) is the key common factor in all dyslexia related learning difficulties. By addressing the issue of focusing successfully, the symptoms of learning difficulties are eliminated, solving the problem once and for all.

THE CAUSE

Non-verbal thinking. A person’s learning style reflects their preferred thinking style. Thinking styles fall into two main categories – verbal or non-verbal. We all start life as non-verbal thinkers, and sticking to this thinking style puts us at risk of developing special education needs. Conversely, using this thinking style allows us maintain access to the high-speed creative thinking babies and toddlers use to learn, thereby laying the foundation for the gift of dyslexia.

THE SOLUTION

There are essentially two steps needed to address all dyslexia related special education needs:

Learn how to focus – and how to notice when focus is broken;

Identify and eliminate triggers which break the dyslexic's focus.

We teach a specific focusing technique, and use plasticine for a multi-sensory learning method to help us eliminate confusion. This allows the dyslexic to read, spell, and write as well as a verbal thinker within a year – solving the problem for good.

We talk about correcting learning difficulties, as there is in our view nothing to cure. By giving the individual a set of simple effective tools, their learning difficulties are overcome.

Our experience has shown a very high success rate in correcting the above learning difficulties. This is achieved with the Davis® correction procedures, explained in detail in Ron Davis’ internationally bestselling book The Gift of Dyslexia (http://www.gifteddyslexic.com/dyslexia-information/gd-books/the-gift-of-dyslexia-book) and his second book The Gift of Learning (http://www.gifteddyslexic.com/dyslexia-information/gd-books/the-gift-of-learning-book).
