The rise of the connected world

Jonathon Palmer, Director of Strategy of Blueleaf (http://www.blue-leaf.co.uk/), will talk about the explosion of connections and sensors bringing together the online and offline world. With Apple's announcement at their WWDC and Google's I/O event there's a long coming surge of interest and activity in the area - Jonathon will describe what's happening and why it's important with key things for the future.

British Gas - Connected Homes

Christopher Livermore, Head of Technology and Operations at British Gas Connected Homes, will give an overview of Hive (https://www.britishgas.co.uk/hive), and the other projects British Gas are working on in the internet of things space with some business focus and high level technical detail. He will also briefly touch on some of the challenges the internet of things presents compared to standard web services.
