Movie Group and Discussion for August

The first week back for the Movie Group was such a success ending with a bangup Monsoon storm, so we are doing it again.

Since the next meeting is a few weeks away we are giving you three movies to wach. Two are on Netflix, (The Wonder and Mixed by Erry). And one is on Prime Video, Redbox and Vudu, (Mrs. Harris goes to Paris).

Mrs Harris goes to Paris -(Prime video, Redbox,Vudu) In partnership with the House of Dior, Mrs. Harris goes to Paris tells the story of a widowed cleaning lady in 1950's London who falls madly in love with a couture Dior dress and decides that she must have one of her own.

Mixed by Erry - (Italian with subtitles based on a true story) Smuggling self-made mixtapes in 1980s Naples, an aspriring DJ and his two brothers become suprisingly powerful record producers wanted by the law.

The Wonder - Set in the Irish Midlands in 1862, the story follows a young girl who stops eating but remains miraculously alive and well. English nurse Lib Wright is brought to a tiny village to observe eleven year old Anna O'Donnell. Tourists and pligrims come to witness the girl who has gone without food for months and lived. Is the village harbouring a saint or are there more ominous motives at work?

We will meet indoors at Black Rock Coffee Bar on Grant Road in the afternoon when it is not busy. Please plan to purchase a beverage and maybe a snack so we are welcome back in the future. As always, you don't need to watch all of the movies to attend.
