Mexican Train in the Pines
Details
Let’s take a short drive up Mt. Lemmon for a “Cool Lunch” and a “Hot Game” of Mexican Train. Jane’s infamous monthly game of Mexican Train is full with a loooong waiting list. If you are interested in alternative play, this is the event for you 😊
General Hitchcock Campground is a small, sheltered campground that is tucked away just off the Catalina Highway on the Coronado National Forest. The campground is situated along the rocky streambed that forms the floor of upper Bear Canyon. Campsites are nestled under a canopy of ponderosa pines, junipers and oaks. Some sites are located right along Bear Creek among large rocks. The Creek generally only flows during rainy periods or during the Spring snowmelt.
We will meet to carpool for a drive up to the General Hitchcock Campground. (You are responsible for finding carpool partners and making the meeting arrangements).
Pack a picnic lunch; BYOLunch and beverage and a camp chair if you wish. We will be playing at one or two picnic tables; five ladies per table. This event will be canceled if we don’t have enough players signed up to fill those tables. Please bring your game if you have one.
There is a pit toilet (non-flushing) at this picnic area. Display your National Park Pass if you have one or pay the daily use fee. Day-use: $8 per vehicle
