Seed Academy are pleased to announce our second event, 'The Crowdfunding Inquisition', back again in the big events room on the ground floor of Google Campus.
Headliners
This time we are very fortunate to have the founders of the world's leading (and UK based) crowdfunding platforms Bank to the Future (Simon Dixon), Bloom VC (Amanda Boyle), Crowdcube (Darren Westlake) and Seedrs (Jeff Lynn) with us.
Format
Like our first event, we'll follow the same 'BBC Question Time' format, this time with the guys above as panellists and the focus being on the usability of these new crowdfunding portals. Please message us via meetup beforehand to let us know of any particular questions you'd like to put to the panel.
Some of the areas we'll be looking to investigate are as follows:
How due diligence is carried out What's needed from a startup to list The differences between the platforms How marketing is carried out The legal structures of each platform FSA compliance Benefits and drawbacks for entrepreneurs and investors We will start at 6.30pm with some general networking on the ground floor before holding our formal 'Question Time' forum between 7 and 8.00/8.15pm, followed by more networking at Campus (we have to be out by 9pm) and then the pub. As before, we'll provide you with beer and other drinks, as well as plenty of food.
Filming
The event will be filmed and hopefully live streamed on the web. If any of you run a blog please let us know your email addresses and once the video has been produced we can send you a link to embed on your website.
Payment
To help cover some of our costs, please pay £10 through meetup before the 5th September (preferred) or bring £10 in cash with you on the day to pay at the door.
Sponsorship
We are actively searching for a good sponsor for this event and future ones. If anyone knows of any companies who may be interested in being involved with our group, in whatever way, please send them our way!
