ABSTRACT
Laerdal Medical and American Heart Association united as RQI Partners, with a shared lifesaving goal and seeking no less than a paradigm shift in the standard of care in hospital resuscitation. As they set out to scale up the new resuscitation training program in the American Hospitals, the challenge came up: How might we keep the equipment robust to ensure uninterrupted resuscitation training for the learners?
Tackling the daunting challenge of a 25 fold scale up and responsibility to manage all the training equipment at the hospitals, Laerdal Medical had to think differently in creating a sustainable system for their equipment. Combining existing data sources into an AI solution, thereby predicting needs for maintenance service was attractive pathway to discover and experiment with in collaboration with Globus.ai. However attractive, Laerdal learned that this journey requires firms to consider several fundamental steps when embarking on a Big Data and AI journey.
