Indy Wordlab is a monthly reading series/open writing workshop. A local writer reads their work, takes questions, and offers a writing experiment, Attendees take 30-40 minutes to write on the prompt, and then reconvene in small groups to share their work.
Barbara Shoup is the author eight novels, including four for young adults, and the co-author of Novel Ideas: Contemporary Authors Share the Creative Process and Story Matters. Her books have received numerous awards, including ALA Best Books for Young Adults; International Reading Association, Young Adults Choice List; Bulletin for the Center of Children’s Books Blue Ribbon Book; Voya Best Young Adult Books and Perfect 10’s. She was the 2006 recipient of the PEN Phyllis Reynolds Naylor Working Writer Fellowship. Currently, she is the Executive Director of the Indiana Writers Center Her most recent novel is Looking for Jack Kerouac, published by Lacewing Books in 2014. Visit her at www.barbarashoup.com.
