Come on a journey and discover the relevance and benefits of space science & technology and how it impacts the lives of African citizens.

Today, Space Technology is used in the fields of Disaster Management, Agriculture, Security, Communications, Urban Planning and Communications, just to name a few. Many of the problems faced on the African continent could be addressed with better information — and space adds an important dimension to this. Space data can help deal with issues such as desertification, water resources, locust plagues, planning urban development, and monitoring the latter’s impact on biodiversity over wide regions.

Over the last 40 years the use of space has become affordable, meaning that more countries can afford to take advantage of space technology and the opportunity to use remote sensing technology for development has never been greater. Space gives us this kind of unique vantage point for monitoring and taking on the “challenge and responsibility” of space agencies to use their technology for sustainable development of Sub-Saharan Africa.
