What we're about

Calling all adventure lovers! A Lark About is your one stop meetup for all things fun. By definition, a lark, in addition to being a bird, is something done for fun, an amusing adventure or escapade, to engage in harmless fun or mischief...often used with about. Hence, A Lark About.

We will go on historical walking tours of St Augustine, Jacksonville, and Fernandina Beach; culinary tasting tours and pub crawls; hiking, biking, kayaking, and camping outings; as well as other fun Larks like scavenger hunts, wine & paint nite, comedy clubs, and escape rooms

Some Larks will be completely free...donations are always appreciated...and some will have nominal fees.

I am Ken Fisher. Many of you know me from Ken's Outdoor Adventures, which is now called A Lark About. In addition to being a licensed St Augustine tour guide, I am an adventure enthusiast and love sharing my passion with you and others.

Thanks for your interest in and joining A Lark About. Please tell your friends too.

🛶 Kayak Lark at Palm Valley Outdoors 🌞

Palm Valley Outdoors

A MEMORIAL DAY KAYAK LARK Let’s go for a kayak paddle on Memorial Day! Palm Valley Outdoors is a great place to paddle, as they offer rentals, and will paddle up and down the intracoastal for a couple of hours. WHERE IS THIS PLACE? The address is 377 South Roscoe Blvd, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082. It’s located pretty close to Mickler’s Beach and just east of Nocatee. More specifically, it is under the County Road 210 bridge at the intracoastal waterway. There is plenty of parking and a nice boat ramp to easily access the water. Please ensure you arrive early to ensure you are ready to begin paddling at 9:00 am, especially if you need to rent a kayak. Wearing a PFD/life jacket is highly recommended HOW FAR WILL WE PADDLE? I am not sure of the distance, but we’ll be in the water up to two hours…however far that is…lol. We’ll go in one direction for an hour and then turn around and come back. We'll go at an easy pace and stay together. KAYAK RENTALS Their single kayak rentals are $10 per hour and their tandem kayaks are $20 per hour…these are very reasonable rates...and two hours will be enough. I suggest calling them to reserve a kayak:[masked]. WHAT ABOUT LUNCH Being their great restaurant is closed on Monday's, we have a reservation just three miles north on Roscoe Rd. at Barbara Jeans. They have great food and service and are beautifully located on the intracoastal, so the views are great too! Please answer the lunch question when you complete your RSVP so I can provide an accurate reservation.

🌅 Vilano Beach 🏖️ Good Morning ☀️ Walk & Lunch 🍔 Wait list available

GOOD MORNING BEACH WALK Let’s celebrate the first day of June with a beach walk along beautiful Vilano Beach. We will walk about two hours, and then we can head to Beaches of Vilano for lunch. They are located along the intracoastal with spectacular views from their outdoor deck PARKING Parking shouldn’t be an issue. Simply use the event address to take you to the Vilano Fishing Pier. We will begin our walk from there, and the restaurant is right next door as well. RSVP QUESTION To assist with the restaurant reservation, please answer the question when you complete your RSVP...thanks!

🎖️Monday Night Trivia 😂 Summer Sunday Edition 🐸

Blue Sky Golf Club

Monday Night Trivia - A ‘Lark After Dark’ Event MONDAY NIGHT TRIVIA ON A SUNDAY NIGHT??? We held trivia on a Sunday in May and it seemed like a popular option, so I am thinking we'll keep it on Sunday during the summer. Once football starts, we'll go back to Monday nights. THEME We will play two rounds of 20 trivia questions each. The questions relate to music, fashion, geography, poetry, movies, sports, travel, entertainment, and more! BRING A TEAM / CREATE A TEAM Come as a team or come as yourself, as we will also create teams on site. Maximum team size is five lark lovers. VENUE INFORMATION The Lark Lounge at Blue Sky Golf Club from 5:00-7:00 pm. Please arrive at 4:30 pm to get situated and order dinner & drinks. Their full food & bar menu are available. EVENT FEE The small fee is to compensate your Chief Lark for acquiring authentic pub trivia questions, and to a lesser degree, his amazing talent…lol. Please pay with cash at the event. Even though you will see 'Unpaid' only next to your name, no one pays until the event. PRIZES Winning team members of each round receive a voucher for free trivia at a future trivia event...how cool!

OUR SEATS This game features reserved seats under the awning and behind the screen above the third base dugout. We will be protected from any rain, foul balls, and flying bats! PARKING There are several lots and garages around the stadium. I suggest parking behind the two-story white building located at 1010 E. Adams Street. Parking costs $10 cash to the attendant, but if you arrive early enough, you may be able to park for free! Note that the lot's entrance is off of A. Philip Randolph Blvd. as soon you turn north off of E. Bay Street. This building is in-between Intuition and the Baseball Grounds, making it very convenient.
