Starting at 6:30pm, we'll have free food sponsored by Arbormoon Software, Inc. Please RSVP to help us estimate how much food we need. While you are enjoying the food, talk with other developers and network in the local Cocoa community.
Our main meeting will start at 7pm and will feature a talk by Chris Dzombak.
In this talk, Chris covers what App Transport Security is and why it matters. He’ll briefly discuss how ATS fits in with other security choices, like “normal” HTTPS and certificate pinning. He’ll survey some popular apps to see who’s using it, and finally he’ll review how you should start using App Transport Security in your own apps—even if your servers aren’t (yet) using best-practice HTTPS configurations or your apps need to handle arbitrary user-submitted URLs.
This talk is based on a post from Chris' blog (https://www.dzombak.com/blog/2015/09/Nobody-is-using-App-Transport-Security--what-s-next-.html), which was featured in iOS Dev Weekly (http://iosdevweek.ly/).
