PLARN (Challenge for January 2013)

THE INSPIRATION:
After seeing the movie "Bag It" earlier this month at the Ypsi Library's Sustainability Film Series I've been on this kick to get rid of plastic or at least figure out a way keep more of it out of the landfills and waterways.

PLARN:
So what is plarn? Plarn is plastic yarn made from single use disposable plastic grocery bags. And using plarn is a fun way to cut down on waste going re-purposing plastic bags into materials to create something new with.

The CHALLENGE:
The Challenge is a month long focus on one particular project or material. It's a chance to break out of your comfort zone and learn some new skills and provide ample opportunity for topics of discussion. On the last day of the month, we'll meet somewhere to show off our awesome projects, pick a winner (oh yeah, there's totally a prize involved), eat and mingle.
