Sept 23-28 Slovenia 3, Kranjska Gora, Vršič Pass, Fusine Lakes in Italy

Having been to Slovenia many times in the past 8 years we have kept exploring new hidden parts of this amazing country.
This trip will be based in Kranjska Gora, a town located next to the border of Austria, Italy, and Slovenia at 806 m.

LOCATION
Kranjska Gora is an alpine resort in northwestern Slovenia, near the mountains and glacial lakes of Triglav National Park. In town, the 17th-century Liznjek House exhibits period furniture and tools. To the west, Zelenci Nature Reserve shelters nesting birds. South of here, Nordic Center Planica is a hub for winter sports.
The Vršič Pass, with an elevation of 1,611 metres, is a high mountain pass across the Julian Alps in northwestern Slovenia. It is the highest pass in Slovenia, as well as the highest in the Eastern Julian Alps. It connects Upper Carniola with the Trenta Valley in the Slovene Littoral. The steep mountain road featuring plenty of hiking trails, lodges & stunning views along the way. You may see the magnificent Lake Jasna, with mountainous landscapes of the Julian Alps and emerald water, you will not mind the 50 sharp bends since the scenery is breathtaking.
The road was built during the First World War for military purposes and was opened in 1915. It was built by Russian prisoners (Russian Orthodox Chapel can still be found there).
There are 2 waterfalls – the pearls of the Slovenian Alpine world under the Špik Mountain. The Upper Martuljek waterfall is especially spectacular, as it descends in three levels over 110m of a vertical wall.

HIKING
There will be an experienced hike leader and a group assistant on this trip, we may split a group into 2 smaller groups so members can choose a hike according to their fitness and abilities! We will hike in the above area choosing the routes taking the weather.

ACCOMMODATION
TBC, it depends on the number of people in a group.
You may have a single room for £130 extra.

The price is around £135 at the moment with check-in luggage.

If you choose different flights you will need to make your own way to the hotel.

All participants of AAA LG trips must be equipped accordingly.
