Travel Guide

Aquatic Adventures has many exciting trips planned for you this year! Our clubs goes on trips that are guided by one of Aquatic Adventures dive professionals.

Travel enhances your diving pleasure, and what better way to travel than with friends on an Aquatic Adventures escorted dive vacation. Each dive adventure is led by a dive professional who has been selected based on their prior experience with the destination to which you will be traveling.

The trip leader is not only along to provide diving support, whether it be additional training, certification or just encouragement, but they will be working the entire trip to make sure your vacation is exactly as expected. Should anything unexpected arise during the trip, the leader will help to resolve it quickly, with as little disruption to your vacation as possible.

Group Trip Traveling
We like to travel in groups with people we know, people we dive with on a regular basis and people do things with all the time. We have so much fun, laughing, sharing experiences, learning and oh yeah just having fun!

Travel Advisories
Always check for travel advisories before you leave at:

- State Department site contains a wealth of information about traveling, tips, traps and precautions. It also contains passport information and online registration with the U.S. Embassy for emergency contacts.

- CDC has health information that is related to travel such as what vaccinations you might need and what is active in which area. Also recommendation of additional medications that you might want to take with you.

- TSA has a lot of information about traveling on Airlines, highways, maritime and more. The rules are always changing so stay up on what is allowed and what is not.

Airline Weight Limits
Every airline now has different rules for weight limits. You should consult that airline before you show up as you might get unexpected expenses if your bags are over weight with dive gear or photography equipment. Weigh your bags and balance your weight among your bags. If you are over weight at least you will not be frustrated when they charge you. Remember that there is a charge going to and coming back from your destination. So if it costs you $25 at check in going to your destination, it will cost you another $25 coming back.

Make sure that you have emptied your weight pockets of all weight as you can get weight at your destination.

Trip insurance is recommended as it can protect you from unexpected events such as bad weather, trip cancellation, interruptions, travel delay, medical expense, accidental death, car rental, emergency cash, baggage loss and 24hours access to a travel assistance for emergencies.

Additionally you even might consider equipment insurance to cover lost or damages items. A trip example would be your dive boat capsize at the dock while you were away and it is soaked in diesel fuel. Yes it happened. All dive gear was a total loss. Yes some had insurance others did not. Which one would you want to be?

DAN has a great Trip and Equipment polices available.
