Welcome, Intro to Canyoneering participants…

On behalf of the Canyon Adventures Team we are very excited to have you join us April 13-14th. Canyon Adventures is a non-profit 501c3 and our mission is to provide healthy outdoor activities to the community and educate the public on wilderness safety and the preservation of nature. Our lead guide & Instructors are certified guides with the American Canyoneering Association (ACA) and dedicated to providing a safe environment to learn the sport of canyoneering. For a complete list of ACA certified guides and all things ACA please visit

COURSE OBJECTIVE: Level 1 - Intro to Canyoneering (cost $265)
Intro to Canyoneering provides students with the basic personal canyoneering skills needed to descend easy canyons as team members with competent leaders and mentors. We will use the ACA Level 1 skills checklist available for your review on link above. Saturday and Sunday we will be outdoors all day. Please make sure you have proper clothing layers for weather conditions, sturdy hiking shoes, sunscreen, Hair-tie for long hair, personal medications, lunch / snacks and 2-3 liters of water. We will take a lunch break on Sat/Sun as I have found some people prefer bio breaks in a bathroom off site of Stoney Point.

GEAR/EQUIPMENT: Canyon Adventures is pleased to provide equipment to borrow during the course. This will allow you to try before you buy and learn why canyoneers prefer certain Prusik’ s, rappel devices, ascenders, carabiners, harnesses and helmets. Personal gear is welcomed so bring what gear you have to practice your new skills and try some of our gear too.

NOTE: All participants are required to email [masked] within 48 hours of signing up for this meetup. Your email will confirm your spot in the course and we will provide you pre-course study materials, payment instructions and course enrollment paperwork. I am available to answer any questions about canyoneering, the course, gear selection and can be reached by email or phone to answer any questions.
