Join us Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 7:15 pm for our monthly Healing Circle + Whirling (Sufi Dance) + Prayer led by CRS co-founder Christopher Pelham and Sufi Dance Artist Lale Sayoko. We gather to let go of our small selves and remember our divinity within. We are honored to have the flutist Cheryl Pyle, one of the premiere jazz flutists in the world, to play with us this month! Bring in any issue — relationship trauma, #metoo, disease, money issue, depression — and surrender it to Spirit. Remember who you are. Receive new guidance. Experience love’s presence in a safe and supportive community. Heal yourself and others. The participation fee is $20 with advanced registration and $25 on the day of the class. Direct registration link: https://www.crsny.org Through whirling, we learn to trust ourselves to go off balance, to be dizzy, to surrender control as we give ourselves over to prayer and connect with a greater power, the still center within, around which we turn, that we may share our divine strength and bear witness to the divinity in others. If you are quiet and in a state of prayer when you Turn, offering everything of yourself to God, then when your body is spinning, there is a completely still point in the center… The heavens respond; and all the invisible kingdoms join in the dance. But the world does not understand. They think we Turn in order to go into some sort of trance. It is true that sometimes we do go into that state you call ecstasy, but that is only when we know and experience at the same time. We do not Turn for ourselves. We turn around in the way we do so that the Light of God may descend upon the earth. As you act as a conduit in the Turn, the light comes through the right hand, and the left hand brings it into this world… We turn for God and for the world, and it is the most beautiful thing you can imagine. — Mevlevi Shaikh Suleyman Hyatt Dede Sufi Dance Instructor Lále Sayoko was one of the founding members of Japan’s famous Samanyolu professional bellydance group, and has since developed her own solo career touring with UK’s Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers on a 44 city tour of the UK, to Turkey’s Baba Zula, to New York’s Bella Gaia multimedia Earth from Space journey show. Communicate with your Inner Teacher. Heal yourself and others. These ongoing classes focus on mind training designed to help you to experience the lessons and wisdom of ACIM. Each Monday class contains some lecture from the ACIM Textbook and/or Urtext, some discussion and Q&A, and typically 20 – 30 minutes of meditation, creative visualization and/or spiritual reading practice in order to experience mind change. Are you seeking spiritual fellowship? Join us and our Mighty Companions in opening our minds and hearts to understand, accept and practice the non-dualistic spiritual principles of A Course in Miracles (ACIM) and A Course of Love (ACOL)! Together let’s shift our minds from fear to love and from lack to limitlessness. Wednesday nights from 8 – 9:30 pm at CRS Classes are $20 and class cards are available. This year (2019) we're starting from the very beginning of the Textbook, using the Circle of Atonement's Complete an Annotated Edition, so if you've been thinking about trying the Course, now is a perfect time to begin! Each week we read aloud a few paragraphs and practice various guided meditation and spiritual reading exercises (receiving messages from spirit). Mostly we seek to bear witness to the light in each of us, to share miracle mindedness, and to help one another to apply the spiritual principles to our daily lives.
CRS (Center for Remembering & Sharing)
CRS presents an evening with the award-winning singer songwriter Neda Boin of the Netherlands, whose first album, “The Light Has Come,” just won Best Album of the Year at the Rotterdam Music Awards. Amazingly, Neda, a student of A Course in Miracles (ACIM) for 8+ years, channeled all the songs on the album in just two weeks, all inspired from ACIM Workbook lessons, making it the first album inspired by ACIM to win album of the year. Profoundly spiritual in nature, the songs are deeply satisfying as songs, with beautiful and irresistible music colored with soul, jazz and world music inflections, brought to soaring life by Neda’s angelic voice. “Neda’s music is a way to merge with the Spirit and feel the absolute glory of Divine Love. Her amazing voice enhances the lyrics from Heaven, and my soul is lifted every time I listen.” — David Hoffmeister, author of Unwind Your Mind Back to God This concert will take place Friday, March 29, 2019 at 7:30 pm at CRS and kicks off the Living in the Light Course in Miracles Weekend, which will continue throughout the day on March 30 with talks, workshops, and healing shared by Neda Boin, Corinne Zupko (author of From Anxiety to Love), CRS Founder Yasuko Kasaki (author of 16 books in Japanese about ACIM), and the CRS healers. Individual tickets for the concert as well as for the weekend are available online, by phone [masked]), and at CRS. Concert tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door ($20 at the door for students/seniors with valid ID): https://crsny.org/index.php/event/nedaboin190329/ In this concert, Neda will share many songs with you as well as many helpful parables about her own journey from darkness to light. Before the album was released, Neda often joked with her friends that she would rename the album to “The Darkness has Come” since there was so much healing taking place before the album fully got recorded. Go to www.nedaboin.com to listen to the album. You’re invited to sing along, or you can just allow the beautiful words and melodies to wash over you. “Those who seek the light are merely covering their eyes, the light is in them now. Enlightenment is but a recognition, not a change at all” (W[masked]). Learn more: https://crsny.org/index.php/event/nedaboin190329/ ABOUT NEDA BOIN Neda, literally meaning ‘Inner Voice’ or ‘Voice for God,’ discovered her musical talent at a young age. In 2006 she won a national music contest with one of the first songs that she wrote. In the summer of 2008 she went to India to investigate child prostitution and give workshops and performances about women’s rights. It was then that she even more so experienced the power and universal language of music. “I saw that making music wasn’t a goal for me anymore, it became a way to connect with people and touch their hearts,” she says. “The songs I was writing were mostly inspired by the injustice I saw during my travels. They were songs about wanting to change the world.” But when in 2010, at age 20, A Course in Miracles came into her life, she started training her own mind so she could be the example of love and peace she so badly wanted to see outside herself. In 2013 Neda won both the audience and the jury prizes at the Music Matters Awards, which made her the music ambassador of Rotterdam for one whole year. She successfully released her first EP, “When Lambs Become Lions,” in October 2014. In 2015 Neda convinced all four coaches of “The Voice” of Holland to turn their chairs around for her, and she made it all the way to the last eight contestants. Last year the Course Workbook lesson 124, “Let me remember I am one with God,” inspired her to channel a complete song with lyrics from that lesson. The same thing happened everyday for two weeks until she had enough “Course songs” to fill a whole album, which turned into her debut album, “The Light Has Come.” You can learn more about Neda Boin on her web site at nedaboin.com.
