We are a group of single men and women, mostly in our 50s, 60s and 70s, who participate in a wide variety of activities for fun and friendship. Though most of our members are Catholic, one need not be Catholic to join. Regardless of your faith, you are welcome here.
Our activities run the gamut from dining out to outdoor activities to enjoying dinners, movies, happy hours, music concerts, the arts, photography, hiking and biking, sporting events, picnics and so much more. We come up with new things to do all the time. Check out our variety of activities, and choose whatever ones you want to attend. You have control of what you attend. Your choice.
If you're expecting a dating site, this meetup group isn't for you. However, if you want to meet and get to know a vibrant variety of interesting, congenial, genuinely nice people, this IS for you. Our group was founded in 2006 and has evolved to include a large number of individuals over that time. We currently have around 90 members, with a core group of very active members numbering around 35. Most events attract 10 to 20 people, making them small enough to get to know each other a bit better.
You're welcome to join on a free trial basis and attend one event without paying dues. After that or within 60 days (whichever comes first), you'll be expected to contribute $10 annually, using WePay on this site, to become and remain a member of this group. We charge dues to cover the annual cost of running the group, which includes meetup.com's hosting and administrative fee, picnic and room and facility rentals, and other expenses that benefit the group and its members.
We ask you to answer a couple of simple questions, to ensure understanding and agreement that we're NOT a dating site, and to give us a general idea of where in the Greater St. Louis Area our members reside.
We also require that you have a profile picture with your face, and yours alone, to discourage scammers and to be able to recognize you when you attend events. Your name will appear on our membership list just as you have it on your meetup.com profile. We protect ALL group members' privacy by making sure we have well-intentioned members join us.
You'll want to make sure your meetup.com profile is set up to receive email communications and notices, which will on occasion provide important information for you about event specifics, announcements, reminder of dues renewal, etc. Please take a moment to update those settings.
