Image Recognition with Node-RED & IBM Watson [WORKSHOP & XMAS SOCIAL]

Details

The last AI JavaScript event of the year!
Excited to present a fun hands-on workshop lasting 90 mins followed by plenty of food, drink and festive socialising then a trip to the pub!

IBM have kindly offered to host this JavaScript-focused machine learning workshop using Node-RED and Watson Visual Recognition.

In this session we will kick-start with an introduction into Node-RED, which is a Visual tool for wiring together hardware
devices, APIs and online services in new and interesting ways. It provides a browser-based editor that makes it easy to wire together flows using the wide range of nodes in the palette that can be deployed to its runtime in a single-click.

Followed by a overview to the Watson API's. You can use them to build cognition into your application, like image recognition, natural language understanding and a few others.
For the hands-on workshop we will build a Node red application on IBM cloud incorporating Visual Recognition to analyse the content of Images.

The workshop will be hosted by Yamini Rao.
Yamini is a Developer Advocate at IBM. She spends most of her time working in Data Science, AI APIs and Node-RED.

PLEASE NOTE ***this is on a Friday night*** so if you don't think you can make it please do not stay 'attending' as it means other people won't be able to use the space. It will be a fun sociable night after the workshop with opportunities to chat with your fellow Javascripters interested in machine learning!
