Spring awakening - joint meetup Cloud Native Wales / AI Wales

Details
WHAT IS IT?
After a brief(!) two-year spell away... We. Are. Back! On Thursday 3 March, we're holding a joint meetup with our friends at Cloud Native Wales. Yes, in-person. Like real life.
We'll use the evening to outline our future plans for both meetups, enjoy a couple of excellent talks, and get people together again for a good catchup.
TALKS, YOU SAY?
"AI in Games – how to fake intelligence to make the player not feel stupid"
- Dr Mike Reddy
Once upon a time, when you would get games in a box, the side would often proclaim cutting edge “Artificial Intelligence”, or some other outrageous claim. It was a time when we didn’t have online, multiplayer. Neither did we have day one patches! However, while the field of AI has advanced in leaps and bounds, the ‘intelligence’ in games has lagged behind.
Why? Well it depends on what you want that AI to do. For the most part, it is just to give an illusion of reality to the player, while they engage in their power fantasies. Does ‘true’ AI have a place inside a game? And what can games, and game engines, do for AI research. Surprisingly, not what you might expect.

"What I learnt about Containers"
- Graham Chukwumaobi
Many resources are available about Containers and Kubernetes to delve into these technologies, but sometimes having too much information can cause more problems. This talk provides an opinion and tips for people looking to delve into Cloud Native technologies, especially Containers. I will be sharing my learnings from my experience as an intern at Control Plane and providing a step by step guide for graduates and new starters into the world of Cloud Native.
