This will be our last meeting until fall at KSU due to logistical complications. Main topics will be finding an Admin-buddy to keep going through the information with a partner.

• Wk 5 - Pick where we left off; read chptr 3 in the book (101-LPIC-1-admin-en.pdf)

** Access Control (Chpt 3)

• Where: KSU-Marietta Campus, Atrium Building J-215B (same building that we used with ALE-SPSU).

• Who: anyone can come. Must have at least 6 months Unix/Linux administration experience.

• We'll be working through LPI-1 Admin training for the next months. Get the materials (https://www.tuxcademy.org/media/lpic1/).

• Cost $0. This is ALE outreach.

Prerequisites:

• Ubuntu Server 14.04 and/or CentOS 7.x Installed on the computer you bring. VMs are fine. No GUI. This is an Admin group. 100% CLI.

• A few months of experience with any Linux/Unix Server OS. Comfortable modifying system settings, sudo, installations. Shouldn't need help installing most software or setting up networking. This is NOT for beginners.

• manpage use is absolutely mandatory. RTFM.

• Expect 32 hrs or more of class effort needed. Probably 2-3x more outside class.

• Please come prepared. Watch the ale-study email list for exercises.
