We organize hiking, biking, paddling, and winter fun activities locally as well as to western Mass and New Hampshire. As an Appalachian Mountain Club chapter, we promote the club’s recreational, conservation, and educational mission. Our volunteer leaders have all received training to help ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable outdoor experience. AMC membership in not required; our activities are open to anyone with the appropriate fitness and gear. We’re looking forward to meeting up with you and hope you give us a try!

Fall Foliage Backpack to Mount Parker and Mount Resolution Highlights

Enjoy fall foliage near Crawford Notch with a 2- day backpack from Bartlett, NH featuring Mount Parker and Mount Resolution. These two 52WAV peaks will be accessed via the Mount Langdon, Mount Parker, and Mount Stanton trails, with overnight at the Mount Langdon Shelter tent site. We will travel along the southern Montalban Ridge enjoying spectacular views of Mount Washington, Mount Crawford, Stairs Mountain, the Rocky Branch Valley, Bartlett and the Saco River Valley. We will travel along scenic white ledges and red pine forests while savoring the views.
On day one we will start hiking in Bartlett on the Langdon Trail at a moderate pace. After reaching the intersection of the Mount Stanton Trail we will back track and leave our tents at the Mount Langdon Shelter, then head north to Mount Parker and the southern knob of Mount Resolution before returning to the Mount Langdon shelter site for the night (10.1 miles, 3,389 elevation gain, 2,287 elevation loss).
On day two we will pack up and head down the southernmost part of the Montalban Ridge enjoying views from Mount Langdon, Mount Pickering, and Mount Stanton as we travel down the ridge (4.8 miles, elevation gain 1,115 elevation gain, 2,241 elevation loss).
Total Distance: 14.9 miles, Elevation gain: 4,504 feet, Elevation loss 4,528.
Prior to starting the hike we will be shuttling cars to our end point at the Mount Stanton Trailhead.
Participants will be screened to determine if they have recent hiking/backpacking experience and proper gear.
Forecasted heavy rain cancels, but light rain does not (unless the wind and/or temperature are not conducive to a safe and enjoyable trip).

Description: The 50th Annual Meeting of the Southeastern Massachusetts Chapter of the AMC will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at The Bay Pointe Club in Buzzards Bay, MA. It will commence at 4:30 pm with a social hour (includes free appetizers and cash bar) and the chapters' Annual Meeting will be called to order at 5:30 PM.
All SEM members and their friends are welcome to attend the Annual Meeting as well as anyone interested in becoming a member of our chapter. There is no charge for attending either the Social Hour or the Annual Meeting.
Following the official chapter business, the SEM Annual Dinner will commence.
Registration details: If you register for the SEM Annual Dinner you do NOT need to also register for the Annual Meeting; if, however, you plan to attend the Annual Meeting but not stay for dinner, please register here so we have an accurate count and order sufficient appetizers.

Description: Join us for the SEM Annual Dinner on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at The Bay Pointe Club in Buzzards Bay, MA. It will commence at 6:30 PM immediately after the SEM Annual Meeting is completed. Dinner will be a sit-down buffet. When you register, please advise of any dietary needs.
AMC staff will provide an annual update about goals, initiatives, and AMC 150.
Our invited guest speaker this year is J.R. Harris, who will share his experiences traveling the world. He will also be available during the social hour time for a "meet & greet" with attendees, including book signing & sales of his book. More information is here: https://www.jrinthewilderness.com/
The evening will conclude with an exciting raffle, for a variety of great prizes.
Prior to the dinner will be our Annual Meeting and we encourage you to attend all the evening events. The full schedule for the evening is 4:30 PM for Social Hour (free appetizers, cash bar), 5:30 PM for the Annual Meeting (free), 6:30 PM for the Annual Dinner & events.
This evening is a much-anticipated event, where attendees can enjoy camaraderie, celebrate our SEM Chapter & the AMC's past year, look toward the goals & activities for the coming year & share a delicious meal. The SEM Chapter is pleased to subsidize this event, to reduce costs for attendance. We hope to see you!
