This session will show how forward thinking DBAs, Database Developers (aka Data Professionals) are using PowerShell to not manage their databases more efficiently but also future proofing their careers.

PowerShell is very powerful with both infrastructure and cloud services but is equally as powerful with SQL Server. In this session we will look at how PowerShell can be utilised as Infrastructure as Code (one of the tenets of incorporating DevOps into your deployment work streams) but also as a method of installing/configuring and managing SQL Server itself. We will also look at how PowerShell and azure can make things a lot easier for data professionals. Part of this - we will look at DSC and also the popular open source framework dbatools.

This session will appeal to both the hardcore PowerShell user as well as anyone who looks after cloud based databases as well as databases residing on-premises
