AmateurPianists Pages

AmateurPianists was founded by Glenn Kramer in 2011 to provide a positive experience for amateurs who wish to share their enjoyment of classical music and perform in public. We provide a safe and nurturing environment where players of every skill level (and all walks of life) can come together as a community to share their love of music and encourage each other in their journey. In four short years, we have grown to be the largest piano-specific Meetup group in the United States.

Each recital usually features eight pianists and runs about two hours (with an intermission). Performers are asked to choose pieces which are representative of classical music: Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionistic or Modern.

Most of our events are FREE, with a donation box at each performance to help offset the costs for renting the facility, the production costs, and the Meetup membership fees. Donations are entirely optional.

We welcome your ideas and listen to your suggestions, and we often create recitals or lectures based upon your great ideas. Some of those resulted in recitals such as our "Women Composers" recital recognizing Women’s History Month, a recital by composers of Latin Descent, Sacred Music on the Piano, the Romantic Classics and many other innovative programs. The year ahead promises to very exciting!

Join our Meetup group and let’s make beautiful music together. We look forward to meeting you at our next event!

Sincerely yours,
Glenn Kramer
Founder and Chairman of the Board
