This is a group for developers, academics, designers and enthusiasts alike who are interested in Augmented Reality, Immersive Reality, motion tracking and interactive technologies. The aim is to have people from Berlin and around the world (via Skype) talk about their AR/interactive projects so that everyone can share, learn and be inspired.
Dear AR/VR lovers,
the new AR Berlin meetup is here!
This time we'll have two great talks and a Magic Leap demo! The talks will be about why consumer mobile AR is so hard to crack and about key enablers of successful XR projects. The Magic Leap demo will be an indoor squash game produced by nomtek.
Neue Schönhauserstraße 3-5 | 10178 Berlin | 4. floor common area
When: 24th April, 18:00-20:00
IMPORTANT: WeWork (our host this time) requires you to show your ID on arrival due to security reasons to prove that you are on the attendee list.
#18:00 - Welcome!
As usual, feel free to put you at ease, find the nicest spot and get ready for the night :)
#18:30 - Speaker 1
Why is consumer mobile AR so hard to crack?
Mobile AR has been around for a while, yet selfie filters, Pokemon Go! and measure tape seem to be the only few killer cases for consumer AR out there. In the talk, we will explore the specifics of consumer mobile AR and think about the opportunities that exist today, while we still wait for AR headsets to become ubiquitous.
About the speaker:
Tadej Štrok is the co-founder of Loco Adventures, an augmented games platform that is on a mission to turn the real world into a digital playground.
#19:00 - Speaker 2
Towards successful XR products - key enablers
Description of the talk:
XR may be an empty buzzword, a nice „toy” with no business meaning or a source of a new juicy stream of monetizable value. All at once. It’s just a matter of putting the right ingredients in place and learning from the past.
We will be discussing what needs to happen for the XR products to bring ROI-positive value.
As a „cherry on the pie” experience - visitors will be able to try out Magic Leap device and play indoor squash game nomtek has produced.
About the speaker:
Piotr Mezyk is the VP of Product at nomtek.
Nomtek has been developing digital products since the second version of iPhone (2009) and if there is one thing they are obsessed about - it’s no-bullshit innovation.
Nomtek has developed the first downloadable Magic Leap app produced in Europe which is also a first app globally produced in Lumin SDK. The most recent focus of Nomtek is shared and collaborative multiuser XR experiences enabled by AR cloud.
#19:30 - Networking
You will be able to meet the speakers, ask your questions and start discussions with fellow participants.
Let us know if you would like to host a demo!
#20:00 - Time to say goodbye
All good things come to an end…
