PLEASE NOTE: MEMBERSHIP IN "ARA" (ACTIVE RETIREMENT ASSOCIATION) IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO JOIN THIS GROUP.
We meet twice each month, on the first and third Wednesdays. The first meeting each month is a Field Trip suggested by one of our POD's Members. In addition to identifying a Field Trip destination-site, there may—or may not—be a specific assignment for that venue. For example, the Field Trip might be to Portsmouth, with the assignment to "photograph windows." Or, there might be no specific assignment, other than to "photograph whatever you wish" at the Field Trip site.
Then, on the third Wednesday of each month we get together at Durham Public Library from 1-3 p.m. to "critique" the photos we've taken at our Field Trip. These sessions may comprise the following outline:
The core of each meetup is the critiquing of members' Field Trip photos.
1. What do YOU notice first about the photo being critiqued and, if there was an assignment (such as "photograph windows") does the image fulfill the designated assignment?
2. What did the PHOTOGRAPHER intend for viewers to notice/appreciate, and how did he/she “take the shot?"
