How long have you been signing?

I took ASL interpreting classes years ago, but have practiced very little since (things like signing songs in the car, remembering a sign when I'm trying to think of the word in Chinese)

What made you interested in sign language?

Initially, I was looking for a unique career :) Around the same time, we discovered that my youngest sister was hard of hearing. Once I was signing, my interest in language, linguistics and communication blossomed.

I studied ASL Interpreting many (15+!) years ago. I now work at CCTV America and am learning Mandarin Chinese. Interestingly, I'm remembering more and more ASL! I am looking to find both Deaf and hearing people in the area to practice with.
