The Evening's Topic

Come with your laptop, and we'll try to get you set up learning Haskell and FP. We want to be beginner friendly, so please come with that expectation and your ideas.

We're meeting on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month.

We may have a small discussion/illustration at the beginning to get people started, but we're going to work really hard to not have that consume too much time.

If you're completely new to Haskell, it would be great if you had Haskell Stack (http://haskellstack.org) installed on your laptop (as well as the text editor of your choice). We can take it from there.

By the end of the evening, we'd like to have you off and running with

• a dev environment you can iterate on

• some problems you can hack on

• a few ideas you can think more about as you proceed

Post-meetup Beer & Food

After the meetup, some people hang back to chat. Some other people go out in groups for food and drinks. We kind of play it by ear.

Some Logistics

Cognitive Scale is in the Arboretum, close to Z-Tejas and Eddie V's.

Park for free in the garage opposite the Cognitive Scale offices, come into the 9500 building, and take the elevator down one floor to the "L1" floor. We'll have some signs to help direct you.

We can meet each other and network around 6:30PM. We'll kick off the planned activity at 7:00PM.
