Off the Wire is the name of the Puget Sound Chapter of AWC (also known as the Association for Women in Computing). AWC is a national, nonprofit, professional organization for individuals interested in information technology and promoting the advancement of women in STEM fields. Membership in the Puget Sound chapter is open to men and women.
You do not have to be a member of the organization to attend our monthly Meetup events or to apply for one of our annual scholarships (http://awcps.org/scholarships).
Our chapter website is at AWCPS.org (http://awcps.org). AWC membership benefits include:
• A members-only job network service that provides a listing of open positions submitted by local businesses.
• Opportunities to participate (http://www.awcps.org/Default.aspx?pageId=289393) on the Puget Sound Board of Directors and other organization activities - an ideal way to build leadership and teambuilding skills while furthering the cause of women in technology fields.
• Affiliation with the AWC national organization (http://www.awc-hq.org/home.html). The national organization provides national conferences, additional support and networking.
• Email subscription with updates on events and other opportunities around the Puget Sound area.
