You can’t pick up an online article, business plan, or “about us” page in the XR industry these days without getting inundated with the word metaverse.

Though the term represents some legitimate principles and XR endpoints, like all buzzwords, it’s become so overused that it’s almost lost all meaning.

So to cut through that clutter and marketing-speak, we’re assembling the AWE Nite SF community and top thinkers for some real talk on the metaverse.

What is it? When will it arrive? And how does it apply to AR specifically? We’ll look to answer these questions and raise some new ones...

Enara is the Founder of a digital fashion customization engine ARMOAR and host of the Digital Fashion & Art show and podcast where she interviews leading professionals and creators. For the last 7 years she launched and scaled high-growth startups focused on building tools that empower creators to do what they do best: make things. She has recently been voted one of Top 30 Voices in the Metaverse and is on a mission to inspire Web 3.0 technologies that will allow people to express themselves online.

Ryan Kopinsky, Ph.D. Ryan started his journey into the world of Augmented Reality in 2013 with the launch of Google Glass. Since then he has created a Google Glass app that launched as the 52nd app worldwide, a Human-Robot Interface for the US Military as part of his Ph.D. dissertation, and many other AR experiences through his AR consulting company, AddedLayer.com. In 2019, Ryan founded Reality School, which quickly became the leading educational resource for Apple Augmented Reality on YouTube.
