Melbourne AWS User Group Monthly Meetup

Details
Our regular monthly meetup (on the last Wednesday of every month).
Kicking off at 6:30pm.
As with all events in the current climate we won't be meeting in person this month, as a result This meetup will be online via our YouTube channel: https://melb.awsug.org.au/live
A huge thanks to Innablr (https://innablr.com.au/) for staying with us as our gold sponsor for 2020. We couldn't keep putting these events on without them and our other sponsors as well.
The overall format of the night will be the same, but we're taking steps to keep it as interactive as we can. Details on how to ask questions of speakers will be explained on the night.
Note the later start time as well as there won't be an intermission.

# Automating Security Checks with Amazon Inspector
- Dawn E. Collett
Level 200
Do you want to know about security holes before someone drives a bulldozer through them? If you're running your workloads on EC2 instances, then Amazon Inspector should be your tool of choice.
In this talk, we'll go through the basics of securing EC2 instances, and look at how Amazon Inspector can do this. We'll also integrate Amazon Inspector into a CI/CD pipeline to catch security issues before they reach production.

# Creating the AWS Account Controller - "Your rules don't apply to me"
- Ian McKay
Level 300
At re:Invent in 2018, AWS teased a solution that was used by the Amazon retail teams for managing the lifecycle of short-lived AWS accounts for development and testing purposes. That solution was never released and the manual process for deleting an AWS account is still a disaster. In this talk, Ian presents a solution that combines Amazon Connect, AWS Single Sign-On and some magic with headless browser automation to allow users to self-administer their own sandbox accounts.
