Melbourne AWS User Group Monthly Meetup

Details
Our regular monthly meetup (on the last Wednesday of every month).
Arrive at 6:00 pm for a 6:10 pm start.
We're back better than ever for October! Two fantastic speakers are ready to impart their learnings to you, with the usual free drinks and pizza. As its a five week break since the September meetup and with the warmer weather I'm sure everyone will be fresh and eager to learn.
Our thanks to Innablr (https://innablr.com.au) for their continued sponsorship throughout 2019. We couldn't run these events without the support of our sponsors.
Don't forget if you can't make it on the night you can still watch the live stream: https://melb.awsug.org.au/live

AWS Service Catalog is an easily overlooked service!
This talk will provide an introduction to AWS Service Catalog and share the Latitude Financial experience of using the service to 'productise' infrastructure development and better support and enable delivery teams.
Insight will be shared around (1) the range of things that can be catalogued, (2) engineering practices (semantic versioning, testing, upgrades), (3) how we encourage collaboration, (4) our journey towards metrics and data-driven product development and (5) a few AWS Service Catalog gotchas learnt along the way.

# Achieving NoOps on AWS
- Amrith R Radhakrishnan
Level 300
If you know how to respond to a situation why not automate the response?
NoOps (no operations) is a concept that an IT environment can become so automated and abstracted from the underlying infrastructure that there is no need for a dedicated team to manage software in-house.
AWS provides variety of tools to perform automation and in this talk we will show you some of the tools and interconnect them to automate in efforts to reduce operational overhead.
At the end of this talk the audience would know where to look for opportunities to automate the typical alerts and resolve issues as they arrive with No Operational (NoOps) or human intervention.

See you all on the night!
