This time we will have only a 45 minutes talk by an AWS Technical Evangelist, Julien Simon.

# Presentation - An introduction to Generative Adversarial Networks, Julien Simon

In this session, we'll start by explaining what GANs are, what the key concepts are, and how they're used today. Then, we'll run a GAN notebook implemented with Apache MXNet, generating lookalike MNIST samples from the original datasets. Finally, we'll talk about AWS DeepComposer, a new service that lets you generate original music using GANs! Beginners are welcome, all questions are welcome :)

Some information about the speaker:

  • As a Global AI & Machine Learning Evangelist, Julien focuses on helping developers and enterprises bring their ideas to life. He frequently speaks at conferences, blogs on the AWS Blog and Medium, and runs an AI/ML podcast.

Prior to joining AWS, Julien served for 10 years as CTO/VP Engineering in top-tier web startups where he led large Software and Ops teams in charge of thousands of servers worldwide. In the process, he fought his way through a wide range of technical, business and procurement issues, which helped him gain a deep understanding of physical infrastructure, its limitations and how cloud computing can help.

Last but not least, Julien holds ten AWS certifications.
