AWS User Group Greece #8: Using Third Party Resources via AWS CDK

Details

Hello everyone!

Our next virtual meetup is here. This time, our presentation is on Infrastructure as Code, and our guest is Mert Saygı!

Mert [1] is Platform & Infrastructure Engineer at the Turkish unicorn startup Getir [2]. Before Getir, he has worked as DevOps Engineer at VNGRS, and he worked on many various projects for sector-leading companies in Turkey. He is trying to contribute to AWS CDK-related open-source projects and writes technical articles on Medium [3].

About the presentation:
Everyone uses some tools like CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK for Infrastructure as Code. The infrastructure not only consists of AWS-related components, but also third-party resources like New Relic, MongoDB Atlas, or OpsGenie are needed for our infrastructures. In this event, we'll get hands-on experience about integrating third parties to AWS CloudFormation and using them in our CDK Stacks.

Presentation Outline:

  1. Resource Creation Ways on AWS
  2. What is AWS CDK, and How To Use It?
  3. How To Develop and Use Private CloudFormation Resources for Third Parties
  4. Creation of Level 1 CDK Constructs from CloudFormation Resources Using cfn2ts
  5. Create Third-Party Resources via AWS CDK

We are looking forward to seeing everyone there!
