The Arizona Rock & Canyon Adventures team is dedicated to providing you with the highest level of service, ensuring your experience with us is unforgettable. Our Pro Team is comprised solely of Professional Instructors, Guides, and Members who have gone the distance to master the technical and leadership skills necessary to ensure safety and guarantee fun. Getting off the beaten path is not be a place where you should ever have to compromise or settle on guides or leaders. Every Arizona Rock & Canyon Pro Team Member has been independently assessed and certified by internationally recognized organizations to ensure they are technically sound and professional in their field of expertise.

Halloween Canyoneering - Outlaw Canyon | 3A II

Fay Canyon Trailhead

Costumes are optional. This is a shorter version of Dillinger Canyon in Sedona. You are responsible for your own safety. This is not a guided tour. You will need to be an active team member. You need to be proficient and competent in all aspects of canyoneering .

Beautiful Sedona area canyon. Good trail to top. A little bushy with some on approach to first rappel. Short technical section with an amazing last rappel.

Required Gear:
Helmet & Harness
Rappelling Device (Canyoneering Specific)
4 Locking Carabiners
Safety Tether (PAS)
Backpack (to help carry gear and ropes)
Snacks / Lunch / Water
Appropriate Clothing & Layers
Adequate footwear. No open toes.

Intro to Canyoneering Course

This course is the perfect primer for those who have never touched a rope looking to begin canyoneering along with those wanting to refresh their understanding of the many core concepts. The basics are a critical starting point for every responsible individual entering the canyons.

Throughout the course you will learn to identify and understand core concepts of trip planning, equipment, rappelling, rigging, canyon movement, overall general safety and much more. The goal of this course is to have you leave understanding the core concepts of canyoneering, so you can become a contributing team member while in canyon with competent leaders and mentors.

Please bring all your typical canyoneering gear, if you have any. We can provided what you don't have at no cost. Please bring whatever you need to stay comfortable all day as we will be outside the entire day. Please bring plenty of water and an appetite for learning. Let us know if you need to borrow any gear.

It will be a long day and very hands on so please come prepared to work. We will be practicing all the skills we teach. We typically talk about the skill, demo it and then have you do it. We find this is the best way to learn.

We will spend 2 days together going over core concepts with some time spent in a classroom type environment and the bulk of the time outdoors putting the freshly acquired skills to use.
