Love food? You’ve found the right group! Come together to try out new restaurants and revisit old favourites, check out local markets and food festivals and maybe even develop your own catering talents with some cooking sessions! Aside from food events we also host sociable drinks evenings at bars around the city, to relax, unwind and broaden you’re friendship circles. Since 2012 we’ve been eating our way around Aberdeen and meeting lots of new friends along the way! 
! We do have some ground rules; please do read through the following before joining. MEMBERSHIPS – we charge a small fee of £4 per year to cover the cost of the group’s subscription to the meetup organisation/website.  Any additional surplus money from this revenue goes towards subsidizing our annual group birthday party, which occurs in January. When you join we would appreciate it if you uploaded a profile picture of yourself (rather than a loved pet or a scenic landscape), as this helps other members to look out for and recognize you at events. ATTENDENCE – we do expect and depend on you to show up if you RSVP yes. Some of our events have limited spots, or waitlists. If members cancel or no show at the last minute, it does not leave sufficient opportunity for that spot to be filled or the reservation to be changed. If you can no longer make it please change your RSVP or comment on the event, if you cancel less than 24 hours before an event in will be noted, and if this happens frequently you may be removed from the group, at the discretion of the organizer. Please attend an event in the first 3 month of joining. DEPOSITS – for meals or events for which the group has to put down a deposit there is often a deposit required to RSVP to the event. This will come off your bill at the time of the event. Unfortunately, this ‘deposit’ situation arose as a result of the issues we were having with members rsvp’ing for events and not showing up resulting in empty seats at dinner tables which is unfair on the host, the venue, the other members in attendance and other members who would have wanted to attend. If you do not attend the event the deposit is not returned, this is used towards covering the cut, which PayPal takes for every money transfer (typically 27p of each £2 membership or 54p of each £10 meal deposit). PLEASE BE ON TIME – if you are likely to be late, please post a comment on the event or let the host know. PLEASE BRING CASH – cash does help when settling the bill for large groups. GRATUITY – at meals we do normally leave a small tip where food or service has been good, please be prepared to do this, for some meals where large tables are concerned there is often also a compulsory service charge - bear this in mind.
