What we're about
You are invited to join a small luncheon group of diverse, cordial, well traveled, welcoming professionals who help each other dissipate the natural anxieties associated by public speaking.
We meet one block from dead center DuPont Circle in the cozy library of the Womans National Democratic Club.
Our meetings take place on the first and third Fridays of each month but August (club closed). A sumptuous, healthy buffet is provided to nurture your body.
Each meeting will take you step-by-step toward your goal to forever expel your fear of standing in front of office colleagues or strangers, whether in large groups or small, to speak for the right amount of time, with the proper content, and to deliver your remarks with the correct level of elan.
This club is among the oldest of its kind in the area. We follow the Toastmaster protocols but not slavishly.
We begin our luncheons with a genuine two to three minute toast, which is great preparation for the toast (or eulogy) you will be expected to make more than once in your lifetime. Joining our club will prepare you for those important moments, and more
Our formal name is Capital II Toastmasters. Joining our cordial club automatically enrolls you as a member of Toastmaster International which, in the process, makes you a Toastmaster for life
