Sunday Impro Workshop - Open to Everyone - PLEASE NOTE NEW DATE

This is a duplicate entry for the June workshop. It is an introduction to both the acting technique that I teach and a chance to use it straight away in scene-based improvisations. The sessions usually last approximately two and a half hours. No experience necessary.

For the first 30-40 minutes I explain the background to the theory, which is followed by the impro exercise itself.

It is a fun, non judgemental environment for you to explore creating characters and discovering aspects of yourself that you never thought possible.

They are drop in sessions so you can attend as much or as little as you like.

The session costs £3 to register then £15 to actually attend (you pay when you get here).

If you have any questions, please do get in touch.

Best wishes

"I thoroughly enjoyed the course. I found Julian's teaching style very good. I have done other acting classes and have never been taught that way, I think it was a big eye opener. I enjoyed the improvisations the most. I appreciated the honest feedback Julian gave me and I will take it on board to improve. I would recommend this course to anyone who is interested in getting an insight into acting."

"Julian has a genuine passion for what he does which rubs off on the group with contagious enthusiasm. He provided great energy and positive, helpful, non-judgemental feedback. Recommended for not just aspiring actors/actresses but for those who may be inhibited or constrained by their beliefs in themselves."

"Amazing insights into the art of acting. Julian is a lively, passionate and knowledgable guide. Thoroughly enjoyed it."

"Julian is an excellent teacher and was very supportive to each member individually and to all of us as a group. He obviously cares a lot about this work and has an enthusiastic need to share and communicate it to others. I really enjoyed his teaching style."

"Very enjoyable. There was some interesting information that sets the scene for the actual workshop impro. The impro was fun and Julian is excellent at offering guidance and provides useful feedback. The experience will definitely stay with you after you leave. Would recommend this group!"

"Loved it and want to do more of it. Clear, honest, constructive, detailed feedback, teaches you 'how' to act, uninhibit yourself, makes you question a lot of concepts and made me hungry to do more and more to improve my acting."

"Wow. Mind duly blown, what a great experience - thank you Julian"

“Nowhere else will give you such a complete understanding of what acting actually is. If you want strong character based acting rather than voice/arm waving based acting then this is the place for you.”

"Just a note to thank you very much for such enjoyable and interesting acting classes. I really enjoyed the experience and actually think it helped with my career as the law firm I am training with have offered me permanent solicitor post."

"I thoroughly enjoyed my first experience of acting and thought the course was an excellent introduction."

"Julian Caddy has been an amazing teacher who definitely takes you out of your comfort zone and challenges you with interesting characters and improvisation scenarios encouraging you to get under the skin of the character. He definitely has a way to make you feel relaxed so you can make the most of the classes, initially I thought 3 hours was far too long but now its the days in between that drag. We laugh so much in classes sometimes it hurts! I look forward to taking some more courses but this time I think it's going to have to be twice a week so I don't have to wait so long!"

"I thoroughly enjoyed the course and felt that I gained a lot from it. As well as learning about what good acting is, the course also enabled me learn more about myself and helped build my confidence. It was very beneficial to receive regular feedback from Julian and the other students and also to observe the other students work. I think that Julian is a great teacher and the class was always full of laughs and fun to be part of. Wednesday evenings will never be the same!"

"The introduction was valuable and the improvisation part was fun and unexpectedly stress-free. Julian provided great feedback to all participants to help us improve throughout."

"I really enjoyed the course. I particularly liked doing the improvisations. Julian’s feedback was helpful and he generally chose parts that would challenge me by taking me out of my comfort zone. I also found the psychology aspect interesting."

"I learned so much about myself and my fears and have a newfound respect for actors (hard work, really)."

"Julian is a great host. He has the ability to make everybody feel comfortable and brings out the best in all participants."

"Thank you so much for wonderful directing – the perfect mix of wisdom, encouragement, good humour and bad language!"
