Active Life for a Healthy Mind is a community activity group that is committed to providing opportunities for individuals who is living with anxiety, depression and/or other mental illnesses, who are seeking a healthy and active social outlet. Although our goal is to introduce and support those who are living with mental illness, all are welcome to join this group. We engage in an expanding menu of activities including but not limited to: walking, hiking, yoga, group fitness and indoor rock climbing.
This program is provided by The Anxiety and Depression Initiative ( http://www.TheADI.org ) a grassroots 501(c)(3), a non-profit organization that is run entirely by volunteers. Its mission is to promote and support the use of an active and healthy lifestyle to better live with the symptoms of anxiety and depression and to overall help lessen the stigmas associated with anxiety and depression.
PLEASE NOTE: The purpose of this group is for a healthy and active social outlet. It is not a therapy group nor, will its activities be facilitated by a health care professional. This group does not provide mental health services of any kind.
